Biography

After graduating from the University of London with a degree in Divinity, Brian served as Assistant Pastor to Derek Prime in south-east London whilst also teaching. He was then called to serve Hook Evangelical Church in Surbiton, south-west London, where he stayed for almost thirty years. He resigned to take on a wider ministry as President of the Fellowship of Independent Evangelical Churches (FIEC) for three years. Brian and his wife Barbara were invited to remain in membership at Hook Church. When Barbara died after a long disability in 1998, Brian continued his ministry of writing, lecturing, editing and preaching across the UK and overseas.

Brian is the author of over twenty books covering various aspects of Christian theology, biography and Bible commentary including Nothing but the Truth—all you need to know about the Bible, and three co-authored: Through the British Museum with the Bible, Evidence for the Bible and Background to the Bible. He has authored two historical biographies on William Tyndale and John Newton and edited the popular Day One Travel Guide series.

Brian married Rosie in 2011. Rosie was the widow of Philip Crowter, a Grace Baptist pastor and together they had commenced the Discover and Explore Bible reading notes and the Pray Prepare Preach Bible resource for pastors in the majority world.

Brian and Rosie are members of Christ Church Dunstable (FIEC). Between them they have five children and fifteen grandchildren.
